    Sorry with Sword just having been released by Microshift in the past year there is not much reason to get these. Their ridiculously expensive and the main reason cheaper road sets are the norm on gravel bikes. Your one by explanation lacks something else the 2x chain rings allow the use of a low range which is easier to pedal and a high range that is easier to pedal. The 40 or 42 tooth 1x are going to be harder to pedal on the low range ant quite as easy to pedal on the high range. This is more evident if you look at it in Gear inches(see Path Less Pedaled channel).

    Would be interesting to see how the internals of the mechanicals of the brakes work. Is it a rotating screw, a cam, or how does it work. Seems that it must be a pretty simple mechanism, which leads to the thought, why then would one type of mechanical caliper be better than another?

    So my question is.. if you pre inflate to 140-160psi but the tire says max 50psi then how does it work if you’re releasing all of it into a tire that doesnt take that much. Im worried the tired would just explode

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce День тому

      Oh bc the canister volume is less than the tire volume. Once you dump all the air into the tire, it only jumps up to 30-40psi at most. There’s also some loss during the best seat phase so not all of the air is making it into the tire

    Just test ride a giant revolt 2. Really like it but looks like the tambora g4 and bend r7 have the upright position I’m looking for and better spec for money. Which model would be the better comp to the revolt. I lean to the bend only because I can put larger tires on it bs tambora. Really want something good in the 50mm range. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

    I’ve just switched out the FS 1.5 to the FSD slammer and the difference in ride quality for me as a road rider is night and day! The front end feels both stiffer, lighter and the bike is far more responsive when climbing, cornering and putting the power down. I haven’t gotten on with the FS for a while now and this was my last attempt to try and rectify this or just get a new bike. My Roubaix has pretty much been converted into a Tarmac and feels like a new bike! Thank you so much for engineering this amazing solution for those who don’t get on with the FS technology and saving me the cost of a new bike. Delivery to the UK was quick and it’s worth paying the extra for a decent product like this vs some other options which I thoroughly researched.

  • @pavand7410

    To me you are merging two mechanical systems of wrench: the lever ratio of d2/r with tension spring which is defining the click (an internal transfer function of wrench to initiate a click) and d1+d2 torque lever. When applying torque exceeds specified value, equilibrium between friction force (setted up by spring tension of transfer function) and (d1 + d2) F breaks - the transfer function makes click. As mentioned one of viewer one year ago, before click the wrench is the one solid pivot lever with size d1+d2. So, to calibrate the wrench we need correct weight at correct d1+d2 distance. As I see, you are trying to describe all absolute forces that are originating in wrench.

    I don’t understand the thought process behind some decisions with this video. While the overall quality is decent, I feel like so many parts just assume you know what you’re doing and skip forward. For the back tire part, you just show the skewer, screw the screwer, and then it is magically on the bike and your moving forward. You don’t show the process at all.

    If your new, older, or carrying a load,1x has a range limitation. If you need a climbing gear down to 20”, you give up top speed. With 2x GRX, I just changed 11-34 to 11-40 and bingo, I don’t blow up and still have my top end.

    when I bought my first dropbar bike last year, i went for a 1by gravel bike. GRX with 40t in front and 11-42 in the back. this spring I got a new wheel set for road and now im mainly driving on tarmac. I watched your videos about converting the grx to fit a 11-46 cassette. the plan is to go with a 46t chainring a with the 11-46 cassette. then I have the same jumps as in my 11-42 cassette. only the last jump is bigger. but here in northern Germany its really flat so its only an emergency gear and should be fine. the 2t jumps are still to big sometimes but should be fine for now.
